Codec: The codec to encode the audio track. Codec "Without reencoding" copies the audio stream from the input file into output without re-encoding if possible.

Bitrate: Set the overall output AC3 (Dolby Digital) audio bitrate. If set to "Custom", the usable (and recommended) range is ≥160 kbps. The maximum bitrate is 640 kbps.

Audio Channels: Set the number of audio channels. This setting is most useful when downmixing channels (e.g., from 5.1 to stereo).

Later these companies joined their forces in the Blu-ray Disc Association. AVCHD technology supports 720p and 1080i resolution. The format uses MPEG-2 or MPEG-4 codec for video compression and Dolby Digital AC-3 for audio compression. Blu-Ray players can playback MTS videos without compression.
